* Extreme Grassland Fire Danger - Is Forecast.

* Winds - Northwest 30 To 40 Mph With Gusts Up To Around 60 Mph.

* Relative Humidity - As Low As 35 Percent.

* Impacts - Any Fires That Develop Will Likely Spread Rapidly And Become Very Difficult To Control. Outdoor Burning Is Not Recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness Actions -

A Red Flag Warning Means That Critical Fire Weather Conditions Are Either Occurring Now, Or Will Shortly. A Combination Of Strong Winds, Low Relative Humidity And Warm Temperatures Can Contribute To Extreme Fire Behavior.

Day One - Today And Tonight -

Wind - Stronger Northwest Winds Are Expected Throughout The Day Today. Sustained Winds Of 25 To 45 Mph Are Expected Across The Area With Wind Gusts Over 50 Mph Possible, Especially In Northwest Oklahoma Where Wind Gusts Over 55 Mph Are Possible Which Could Cause Damage To Trees And Power Lines. The Strong Winds Across The Area Could Also Make Travel Difficult, Especially In High Profile Vehicles. Wind Speeds Are Expected To Diminish Early This Evening.

Fire Weather - The Strong Winds Combined With Low Humidity Will Increase The Wildfire Potential Today, Especially In Parts Of Southwest Oklahoma And Western North Texas.

Days Two Through Seven - Saturday Through Thursday -

No Hazardous Weather Is Expected At This Time.
